Seating Arrangement
I placed a circle rug under the projector so that my students can sit on the carpet while I teach my lesson. I arranged the tables in a way that each table will have four students in it. If I have more than sixteen students I can add another student table and four chairs to the right side of the other four tables.
I placed a kidney table on the upper left side with three chairs on the outside and one on the inside. This will be used for the times that I will do running records with three students at a time and use it to check if I need to increase or decrease the expectations I have for them. It will also be used as a math review table. For example, if we just learned multiplication tables and it has been two weeks I can check on three students at a time to see if they can multiply quickly or if they are still having to count with their fingers.

At the top you can see that I have three shelves on the left and right of a storage closet. The left side shelves are used for a variety of nonfiction books and will be organized by genre. My library will include essay, speech, history, autobiography, and biography. and and literacy activities that they can use if they are done reading. The storage will be used to store supplies, manipulatives and seasonal activities and art supplies. The right side shelves will be used for a variety of fiction books and will be organized by genre. My library will include adventure, drama, gable, fairy tale, fiction, fiction in verse, horror, humor, folklore, poetry, historical fiction, legend, mythology, mystery, science fiction, tall tale, short story, and realistic fiction.
On the top right side you will see an easel with a square rug underneath and a beanbag chair and a plush sofa. This is where the students will sit when we have ten minutes to spare. I will use the easel to show them examples of what they need to do for their activity, if I need to go over the class rules, if I am going over a lesson that I already taught just to refresh their minds. Behind the beanbag chair you can see two shelves. This will be used to store more books and bins for their guided reading time. They will have Ziploc bags with their name on them and appropriate reading level books that they will read during guided reading time.
The storage next to the two shelves will be used for classroom seasonal decoration and school celebration outfits. For example, a costume for the 100th day of school. On the right of the storage you can see three shelves that almost surrounds the square rug. This is the reading and relaxing section of the class and will include the same genres with more books for the students to read. It will also include a few coloring books and crayons, markers, and color pencils for their brain break time.
On the bottom right corner you can see three more shelves, two desks with two chairs, and a square rug. This will be used for the math center they will have bins with activities that include manipulatives, instructions, timers, and scoring board. They can use the desk or use the rug during this time.
On the bottom center you can see four easels and a circle rug, this is for their art time. They will have paintbrushes and paints and markers to use during an indoor recces. I will allow four students at a time to be in this station with ten minutes to paint or draw on the easels and then they will rotate with the other four students who will have the same amount of time. To the right of the easels you will see a student table and six chairs. This is for math, social studies, and science game board and activities. They will have a designated shelf on the right to grab the activities and can play as a pair of two or four or six.
